“Mom!” said a voice in the middle of the night
I bolted up & stared in fright
At my 3-year-old girl at 3:33
Innocently looking at me.
Without any time to figure it out
I found what she was worried about:
“Mom, can bears jump?” she had to know
I told her that I didn’t think so.
Back in bed at 3:34
She said that up on the 2nd floor
She wanted to be sure that no high-jumping bears
Could get into her window there.
I reassured her & kissed her head
& said, “No more nature movies right before bed!"
In the end, I think it was all well & good--
Yet another glimpse into...MOTHERHOOD!!!
