What motherhood means became clear to me as soon as I came home from the hospital with my daughter. When I walked into my house, and realized that I was on my own, and completely responsible for the entire future of this individual, that was a huge weight to bear. I was nervous, anxious, intimidated, hopeful and exuberant all at the same time. I knew that this baby needed me, and that my actions would determine the life that this precious child would lead. Every decision that I made, was also a decision for my daughter.
