I thought Moms could play games, tend to their personal needs, and care for their homes better than anyone with a real job. I couldn’t have been more wrong. While changing my son’s dirty diaper for the thousandth time the other day, he turned his head to look at me. I smiled and said I love you! He responded with the silliest grin I’d ever seen. My heart melted. There may be jobs that allow women to get fancy manicures and hire maids to keep house, but there’s no prouder moment than when your baby smiles at you and it’s not just gas. Moms are lucky; just not for the reasons I thought.
